Driver Record Services
Why Check Driving Records?
Motor vehicle records help to identify prospective employees whose unsafe driving records pose a potential risk to your company. Checking an applicant’s driving record is important for specific reasons. You don’t want to hire an unsafe driver for a job that involves driving a truck or company vehicle, entertaining clients or operating machinery. And employers with company-owned roadways (including parking lots) may wish to limit corporate risk by hiring only individuals with an acceptable driving record.
Why Global Verification Network?
We have the experience and expertise to conduct a quick, accurate check of motor vehicle records (MVR). Global Verification Network guarantees that its motor vehicle driving record background checks are in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
What Information Will You Receive?
An examination of driving records through the state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) repository provides validation of the applicant’s driver license number and driving history in the state that issued the license. Specific information includes:
- Confirmation of the name on the license
- Class of license and Commercial Driver’s License (CDLIS) verification
- License issue and expiration dates
- Violations / tickets
- Revocations, suspensions and insurance cancellations
Other Driving Record Searches
Global Verification Network also conducts an Annual Motor Vehicle Driving Record check, which we recommend for employees who will operate company vehicles or drive a vehicle as part of their jobs. Also, for applicants from outside the U.S., we obtain an International Motor Vehicle Driving Record report from the applicant’s country of residence (if that country makes MVR information available). The international report contains information related to license class, restrictions, status, expiration date and violations.
